Southpaw Chop is a Japanese DJ/Producer who has been remain loyal on sampling only from the original records when he produces the beats and refusal to aimlessly follow trends of the times. He came in action in the late 80’s and blessed to be in one boat with today’s internationally acclaimed Japanese DJ’s like Krush and Honda to learn from, during the time when the scene of Disco turns into the Club style in Tokyo.

In 1998, he marked a remarkable debut when he was featured on DJ Krush’s sensational all instrumental album “Kakusei” on the track “1200″ which consist from using only SP1200. Soon, Japanese rapper “Nipps”, the member of “Buddha Brand” heard about the wise man and he immediately invites Southpaw Chop as his producer for the project away from his band. The reaction went well and they successfully lay down highly respected record call “god bird” and capture huge attention in Japanese Hip Hop scene. After few years later in 2004, he was signed & released his first album “Light Sleep” and 2 EP’s from the Japanese label Tri-Eight Music Supplies. In this album, his abstruse programing skill that stunned many fellow producers. Since then, starting Japanese major artist like You The Rock, he has been producing rap artists regardless of major to the indie and his outclassing taste and production skills has credited and lead his props as still as the statue.

Southpaw Chop’s bottomless energy continue to progress and leaded to release various Mix CDs, his newly produced instrumental song call “Rookie” which offered to play as sound track in Takahiro Morita’s skate video “Underground broadcasting” has captured unexpected echoes to acclaim his music by the scene away from his footstep. In response for this, he decided to launch his crown label “Southpaw Chop Music Production” and hitted with the ground breaking record to sell his first EP(including the hit “Rookie”) claimed remarkably fast. After all era, he became an editor at large of Mix CD series call “Underground railroad” which grown to impact and dominate the price of underground Hip Hop records in the world.

Then, at long last, his gifted talent was recognized by international distributor “Crosstalk Chicago” and result to win the distribution deal for worldwide release, this happened just as he was about to diverse into the world. For this event, he’s set to release in the world his solo instrumental album, the concept scenario to express his long time perused method of sampling. It’s entitled “Never stop sampling” - sub title; “Dedicated for those MC’s away from the limelight”, firstly set to release a 12 inch single in early 2010. 時代に流されることなくあくまでもオリジナルレコードからのサンプリングにこだわり続けるDJ・プロデューサー。８０年代後期から音楽活動を始め、シーンがディスコからクラブに変化を遂げるディープな時代にDJ KrushやDJ Hondaといった世界のトップアーティストらと行動を共にする機会に恵まれ自身のセンスとスキルを磨いていく。１９９８年には全曲をインスツルメンタルでまとめたDJ Krushの話題作[覚醒]にサウンドプロデューサーとしてフューチャーされ、SP1200のみで構成された曲[1200]で華々しいデビューを迎えるのである。そして賢人ここにありとの噂をいち早く聞きつけたBuddha BrandのNippsはすぐさま自身のプロデューサーとして向い入れ名盤と名高い[God Bird]を生み出し日本のHip Hopシーンに話題を呼んだ。2004年には本名名義でTri-Eight Music Suppliesから初のソロアルバム[Light Sleep」と二枚のEPをリリース。その難解なプログラミング技術がシーンの度肝を抜いた。また、You The Rockを始めメジャーからインディーまで幅広い層のMCのプロデュースに携わりその抜群なセンスと制作能力の高さが認められ人気を不動のものと確立していく。さらに快進撃は続きSouthpaw Chop名義では多数Mix CDをリリース。森田貴宏監修の人気スケートビデオ[Underground broadcasting]に提供した曲[Rookie]が予想以上に反響を呼び、重なるファンの要望に答え自身の冠を取ったレーベルSouthpaw Chop Music Productionからその曲を収録したEPをリリースし記録的な速さで完売となる。その後世界のUnderground Hip Hopのレコードの値段が左右されてしまうほど影響力を持ったMix CDシリーズ[Underground Railroad]を監修・取り締まる存在となる。そしていよいよ海外進出の時期到来と感じてた矢先に海外ディストリビューターCrosstalk Chicagoからその才能を買われ、レコード市場が不況な時代にも関わらず海外リリースに向けての配給オファーを勝ち取る結果となった。長年に渡ってこだわり続けたサンプリングという手法を追求したニューアルバム[Never Stop Sampling]の中から先行して来年早々には念願の世界デビューを担うEPのリリースが決定する。ロンドンの人気ネットラジオRhythm Incursionsを始め、Amar Patel(Straight No Chaser), Robbie　Ettelson(Unkut.Com), Dave Roberts(DWG)といったコアなファン層を抱えるメディアパーソンの援護射撃もあり、彼の舞台は東京から始まり世界へと移り変っていくのである。
